wanted Winchester 94 buttstock

#1 Post by ethang » Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:36 pm

a buddy of mine dropped his 94 and the buttstock split at the lower screw hole. He did not save the broken piece unfortunately so fixing that stock is a no go.

It's a pre-64 that belonged to his father and then his uncle.

Looking for a reasonable or better yet, cheap fixer upper stock I can restore and put an oil finish on and surprise him.

What year was it made?

The "pre-64" matters less than the exact year it was made, the butt stocks changed in 1948 I believe and were the same thereafter.
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

I have a new old stock one that would be correct. It is NEW and requires no refinishing or repairs. Includes the butt plate. $100.00 shipped.

Thanks

I am not sure. I will check with him after the weekend and see if I can get a serial number.

I bought one from Numrich a few years ago, they were advertised as being complete with dents, scratches and cracks but mine arrived perfect.... :D
