WTT: RCBS Carbide .45 Colt Dies

#1 Post by Rube Burrows » Mon Feb 04, 2019 5:11 pm

A while back I accidentally bought two sets of .45 Colt Dies. I was supposed to send one back but waited too late so I have an extras set of the .45 colt Dies. I don't need two sets. They have never even been in a press before. Still brand new in the box.

I would like to see if anyone out there has a set of 38-55 dies that they would want to trade for a brand new set of .45 colt dies? May consider other dies like 45-70, 44mag, etc.

I am looking for a straight up trade where we each pay our shipping to the person.

Anyone interested?

I've never heard of a 38-55 carbide die set, hopefully someone else has.

A 10mm/40s+w carbide sizer might work for sizing a 38/55 casehead, loadbook shows .425 diameter for 38/55 and .424 diameter for 40 s+w... todd/3leg
P.S. a 9mm Makatov is .390 diameter if you just wanted to "neck size" just enough to seat bullet...
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage: The Original short action, compact, high velocity cartridge.

I realized that after I posted. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'd rather trade them for some other stuff. I think I paid about 65.00 or so for them. I could prob. go a little cheaper than that though just to not have extra in .45. I don't really have use for this set. I have never used this set at all.

Rube, I think I've still got a set of 38-55 that has barely been used. I'll look if you are interested. Don't really need another set of 45 Colt but would take 20 for the 38-55s.

Darn if it ain't my luck. I just ordered a set of 38-55 dies from MidwayUSA. Figured I would use the birthday discount and free shipping being offered today since I wasn't having any luck on the trade. Thanks for the great offer though.
