Roy Stroh flintlock rifle, .40 caliber

#1 Post by Bill in Oregon » Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:16 am

This an unfired custom .40 flintlock "poor boy" built for me by Roy Stroh of Maine to be correct for southern Tennessee about 1800. It features a Jim Chambers late Ketland lock, a Charlie Burton 44-inch swamped barrel approximately "A" weight, hand forged furniture and a custom poured nose and stocked in a very nice piece of cherry. The metal is finished bright. LOA is 59 3/4 inches, LOP is 13 1'2 inches, drop at heel is 3 1/8 and weight is 7 3/4 pounds. As you might imagine, it handles like a fine fly rod. Asking $1,750. Price includes shipping in a plywood crate and rifle comes with a Unique brand soft case. Ask if questions or specific photos wanted.
Roy is a well respected gunsmith and a member of the Contemporary Longrifle Association.

Good for you -- for both of you, actually! What a beautiful rifle!
