 1540 LB, 10 FT tall and coming at you at 30 MPH, thats enough to turn even the stoutest miners bowels to water.

As for going up there to hunt them, I dont think my 357 would be up to the task  .

Why not just reach down in your shorts and get a handful of that instant bear repellent and throw it at him?

Hang on, some place in my closet I think I have a belt fed "105" recoiless. That should help solve the problem.

See, there is a legitimate use for a .50 cal bolt action.

Good place for a .45-70, too.

Are the bears in the mine, or is fencing too expensive in Russia?

Unless there happens to be more than two bruins looking at you as if you were the blue plate special of the day.

I like double rifles too, but looks to me like a job for a M-1886 Winchester loaded with Garret 540 grain Hammerheads.

i personally don't trust the russians... :o ...some day you eat the bears, some days the bears eat you...you'd think one of them would at least break out their moisan-nagant left from the siege of stalingrad and have a go at them there bears... :o

I like a heavy .45-70 but in this case think a Barrett would be just about right...

In fact, the PKM would be handy as well and I bet there's SCADS of them over there!

This sounds like a job a one farmboy from West Virginia with a 30-30 could take care of this problem.

If you shorten the barrel of the Lahti and make it a pistol it would be legal in DC! (top loading magazine)

Yeah, but that Lahti would tear them up too bad for eating or skinning.

Skinning? I figure the right round would do most of the work...

Wow, they are really missing a great opportunity to raise some cash for the locals... auction off a dangerous game hunt featuring 10ft russian brown bears on the safari international discussion board - bet they'd get some takers!

I'm thinking a BLR in .338 Win Mag with 250 grain triple shocks would be great - rapid fire power. A .375 H&H and 300 grain triple shocks would be even better... but you're stuck with a bolt action and no detachable mags...
