.

Basically, you want to look at several levels of evidence for a treatment.

Number one, if there is a mechanism of action that makes sense pharmacologically, that is helpful.

Number two, if you have empiric observations there are already being noticed without having to do any official studies, that is encouraging.

Number three, if both of the above lead us to believe that the intervention is safe and unlikely to interfere with other proven interventions, that is a good reason to start offering it.

Finally, number four is if there is time and motivation to do high-quality double blind placebo controlled studies, then that can effectively prove the worth of the treatment.

I think we can safely say that melatonin has passed the first three of those criteria anyway.

Yeah. When that data first came out I upped my dose to 6mg. Been waking up with a melatonin hangover ever since. Great dreams though.
Kind regards,

May try sublingual - it gets in the system faster so may not linger as long.

I've been taking two rapid dissolving 3s to sleep for a couple years. If I had to get up early, that would never do at all.
Boy, howdy, do I sleep good.

I don’t have a brand preference but “Nature’s Bounty” is usually what my pharmacy sticks and it works.

Hello All, I'm Big Al from Alabama.
I would, being new, keep my mouth shut and listen for a while, but when I saw this I thought I would add my 2 cents.

I would recommend following the Frontline Covid Critical Care group (FLCCC) at the University of Eastern Virginia Medical School.
They keep a database of everything tried in the US, from several regional medical schools, and what worked and what did not, also what worked in one way but not in another.

Just Goole (or DuckDuckGo) FLCCC or write it out.
Melatonin is one of the supplements they recommend for prophylaxis (prevention).

Right now they are saying Ivermectin, an anti-paracitic, is showing great effectiveness.
Your Vet may have prescribed it for your dog for heartworms. Its used in 3rd world countries for their parasites.

They prescribe a list of pretty standard supplements.
Vitamin C
Vitamin D3
Zinc
Thiamin (B1)
Selenium
Aspirin
Melatonin
Quercetin (This last is an OTC vitamin, and replaces the HCQ; it transports the Zinc across the cell walls so it can kill the virus.)

I didn't put the amounts because you really need to go to the FLCCC web site.
They update results, findings, and their recommendations weekly.

Check them out and good luck and God Bless us all!
Big Al

It doesn't "cure" covid, but Guaifenesin will keep your lungs clear of mucus and help you breath. I can't help but think keeping your lungs clear is very helpful, and it will give a little boost to your blood 02 percentage.

Thanks Big Al for gathering the data here. It's a very fluid scene.
