Not sure why this has been such a secret to so many, for so long. I've been using wax rings for a very long time. The two best parts are the price, and the fact the mix is perfect just as you buy it.

Cool we must watch the same videos. I saw this come up earlier today but had not had a chance to watch it.

I'll try this if I ever get back to casting bullets. Sure is a great way to get cheap bullet lube.

Yep. BTDT. For many years the wax toilet rings were made of beeswax, but all that I have seen recently are "junk wax" or "petroleum wax, or dregs which can be anything gooey.

Too sticky for me. That and I’ve installed dozens of them. Not my favorite job. I’ve got plenty of 2150f and beeswax to last several lifetimes and a few sticks of Apache Blue for Jacketed Performance loads.
Kind regards,
Tycer

My favorite lube for several years was a mixture of beeswax and black moly grease.

It worked great and left a protective coating on the bore. It was sticky and messy, but I never had any leading issues when I used it.

Smelled like old motor oil when you shot it though.

I use nothing except Paco's Apache Blue.
Many years ago he made me a #10 can full of it. It is still more the 1/4 full and will probably outlast me.
It is good for rifle velocities over 2200 fps .. doesn't run in hot weather .. works pretty decently in cold weather without a heater.
The Bad News?
He hasn't made any in years and will likely never make any again.
Time marches on my friends.

I hear a lot of good things about Apache Blue Lube.
Is there a recipe out there somewhere?
