Savage mod 24-A

Post by 308magtip »

I have a Savage mod 24-a .22 mag over 20ga shotgun.I know this a levergun site but I do need help on this one.My son was going to use it in Chester co Pa for the deer season which overlaps smallgame and when he tried to shoot shotshells the firing pin barely nicked the primer.Pin does not look worn or bent. any ides where a new one cab had or maybe a good strip down and cleaning by a goog gunsmith. Thanks.

If the selector is on the hammer, make sure it fully engages in the lower position. Crud or debris could be blocking it.

I been thinking that same route. Will need to have my gunsmith do some of his TLC on the old girl.I have neither the proper tools or the time.

Those are nice old guns. It was the very first I gun I bought for myself the day I turned 18.
