Cut my own dang hair

Post by Bill in Oregon »

I needed a haircut before all this mess even started, but with the barbers shut down I reached the breaking point. Bought a $22 Wahl clipper set, fired her up and got her done last night -- or at least made a pile of hair on the floor.
Doesn't look too bad if you are standing 50 feet off and I am wearing a ball cap ...

By a stroke of luck, I got a haircut about two days before WI shut down all barber shops.

I already had a pair of clippers that I would use when the sides would get bushy. Like you though, this time I had to cut it all. It may not be perfect but I don't have perfect hair anyways so it works for me.

I get my hair cut quarterly so I dont care as I got my hair cut in end of January. If I have to stretch it a little longer oh well, and yes I have a full head of hair.

On the verge myself. Since I’m still an active case my wife and I are quarantined for the foreseeable future. I’m on the mend but still coughing and I wouldn’t wish this stuff on anyone.

So much for the , poor, poor pitiful me stuff. Back to hair. I’m going to order some shears cut it as short as possible then shave my head. My hair is way too thick, so if I shave it I can maintain it by just shaving every few days. This way when I rejoin the world I won’t look like Larry, Moe or Curly Joe did the deed.

I got lucky too and got my hair cut just before the governor shut the state down. But it bugs me if it gets long, so hope they don't keep thing shut down more than a few more weeks. If they do I may have my wife use the dog grooming kit!

I have some battery powered clippers I may use. If I need to shave what little I have left, I don't really care. My Wife is more concerned with me still having some hair than I am. Mustache clippers are probably enough for my head.

It's even easier now, just set it on "close" and go till nothing else falls off. I don't have to look good...I'm married...

I just use the dog clippers. Paid for by the saved tariff. It's normal in this wheel house.

Only problem is Chico refuses to cut my hair, so I have to do both of us . . .

The ChiWeeni, Rambo, would try to do anything at least once. I might lose an ear by letting her have the clippers, but she would try it. Her name used to be Rainbow, but she is too tough for a girly name.

Been cutting my own hair since 1994. Got tired of waiting in the barber shop. I got used to it right away, those that had to look at me every day took a little longer. Figure that's about $5k not spent, minus the cost of a couple of clippers over the years. Like I tell my kids, "it's just hair, if you screw it up it'll grow back" :D

Mine doesn't always grow back even if it is not cut. OH well! I can always wear a hat and avoid sunburning my scalp that way. Getting a sunburn on top of your head is not fun.

I started cutting my own hair back around 2005, which is, coincidentally (?) about the same time I stopped caring what I looked like!!
