U.S Covid-19 Case Heat Map Since March 17th

Post by KeithNyst »

I started tracking U.S. Covid-19 case counts in mid-March, about the time the President put in place the 15 Days to Slow the Spread. I would say the horses were already out of the barn at this point, with cases increasing at over 30% a day. Case increase is now down to 5-10% each day and going lower, so it certainly appears the steps taken have worked.

Below is my tracking mechanism.
The dates run across the top, going from March 17th through April 6th. The number in each cell is the total-to-date cases reported. The color is determined by calculating the % increase from the prior day's case count.

Color-Coding:
Red: The daily cases increased by more than 30% compared to the prior day.
Pink: The daily cases increased more that 20% but less than 30% compared to the prior day.
Yellow: The daily cases increased more that 10% but less than 20% compared to the prior day.
Blue: The daily cases increased more that 5% but less than 10% compared to the prior day.

Wow, that took some work -- well done.

Gee, all I've done here is to post some humorous memes about it...

SO, our President is actually correct. Imagine that. Lots of ways that illustration can be used.
