S&W 686 SSR "Pro Series" - Upgrades
One side benefit of not spending 9 to 12 nights a month in hotels (national accounts) is I'm getting much more bench time for various cellar projects...
Most buyers of the SSR Pro Series won't think any upgrades are needed and will use it as is, and yeah I get that. I just happen to like-what-I-like for features, and also find working on my guns as much fun as shooting them (well, almost as much...).
Anyway, I made the following upgrades to my 686 Pro Series SSR and am really happy with the way it came out.
My upgrades include:
* Trigger job (SA = 3.25 # now)
* Target trigger
* Target hammer
* Weigand wide rear sight blade (target/narrow notch)
* Dawson fiber optic red front sight
* Altamont super rosewood finger-groove grips
* Plugged the infamous hammer-block hole
But of course, now that we're on lock down -- I can't get it out to the range....
But I hope to SOON.

How about this, I'm replying to MY OWN posting...........
I had sold off that nice S&W in a rush about a year ago when I really wanted to upgrade my synthesizer, and Voila' -- earlier today, I just found it in the same pawn shop, and bought it back for $50.00 LESS than I remember them paying me. The guy said it has just come in. He didn't think it was the same one -- but nobody else would have done exactly the same upgrades as I'd listed up above.
Talk about luck! I will have to play the lottery tonight!

Look forward to hearing the outcome at your next shooting session.

Congratulations Darryl, I could fill a truck with all the guns I like to find again...
