My younger brother recently had labs come back showing extreme liver changes and other gastro issues. He already deals with Crohn's so did not need the new worries. Some sleuthing by his doctor -- God bless him -- revealed that one of Dave's 90-day-by-mail prescriptions had gone terribly wrong, with a cancer drug -- sodium methotrexate -- having been inadvertently subbed for a very similar-looking pill.
This is a nightmare. Just me, maybe, but I prefer getting 30-day scrips filled at my local pharmacy by people I can say hi to.
He is still getting over the side effects of what could have been a complete health disaster.

Re: Prescription warning
If that happened to me I would assume my immune system is compromised and I would immediately begin taking Turkey Tail mushrooms. I’d start with 2 capsules twice a day and then if no adverse effects up to a total of 12 caps until the bottle of 120 was gone then switch to 2 a day for another bottle.
Host Defense, Turkey Tail, 120 Capsules, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0053DR1EM/re ... zEbS62E1SY

Jesus, Bill!
That IS a nightmare! Those drugs are essentially toxins that are designed
to (hopefully!) kill the cancer before the patient.
All the best to him. I hope that his health recovers quickly.
And kudos to the doc!

Re: Prescription warning
Lucky your kid brother's doctor was on the ball, that mistake could have been fatal I hope he makes a swift and complete recovery.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.
Re: Prescription warning
Methotrexate has a side effect of damaging the kidneys. Folic acid, or l-methylfolate would be a good idea. It will probably take some time to fix. Since it was my profession that made the mistake, I am embarrassed for them to make this mistake.

Re: Prescription warning
Like all jobs, there are safeguards in place to prevent things such as that from happening. Someone had to have overridden the safeguards.
