Nikon has so many other consumer products and the general snowflake attitude towards anything firearms it’s probably a good decision to get out. All they need is one Nikon scope to be used in some public event and they could lose market share of their other products.

Picked up an Mtac at half off. Schwing!

Every time some company that is firearms related sells out or goes under, all you hear is that the "climate" has shifted against the firearms industry because of all the mass shootings.
GARBAGE!
The truth is, after 8 years of panic buying, and almost 4 years of an administration that makes most feel there is no "danger", sales are WAY down.
The supply chain exploded to meet increased demand. Now the demand is down.
The fact is, gun control is still a loser issue. Most of it is news media lies.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Sad to hear this. I must have a dozen of their scopes. Always preferred them.

Yea...me too....I've always thought Nikon's were the best bang for the buck without going crazy broke on something like Nightforce. Well, with Nikon going out of the scope business that will be good news to Vortex, which are comparatively priced with the same quality.

I figured those sellers would be doing huge discounts on Nikon, but I don't see any huge bargains, so I guess I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Thanks! That Nikon 3x9-40 Tactical looks like a great scope for one of my rifles, and a bargain at $119.
