More ML success !

Post by 6pt-sika »

Got out this AM well before legal shooting light . Got set up in the TreeLounge and waited , legal shooting time started about 06:16 along about 06:20 to 06:22 I saw this guy about 40 yards from me . I'd never have seen him anywhere else but I was right off the powerline and it was a crystal clear morning . He was facing me looking straight at me even though I was about 25 feet up in the tree . So the frontal brisket shot pole axed him DRT ! When I shot I thought he was a younger deer but after getting down a couple hours later and examining him I'd say more like 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 . Not my best rack by a longshot but I was pleased none the less ! I didn't bother trying to lift him up on the ATV just looped the drag rope around the neck and to the house we went . This one was cut up and in the freezer by 11:30 AM ! First two pics are of the deer on the ground taken from my stand .

Well done! Ya can't eat antlers, so if the chance to take a rack is there I say shoot it. Sure I pass up little racks but if it's as wide as the ears or better it's going in the freezer. Personally I think a mature doe is harder to hunt than a buck.

Wow! Nice buck 6pt. Congratulations on a good job of freezer filling.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
