Proper way to in stall winchester saddle ring?

Post by Recoil Rob »

I just picked up a nice 1921 M94 SRC, it still has the stud but is missing the ring. I can source a new ring, is there a proper way to install the new one or just bend it open and close it up?

thanks,

Rob

Welcome to the board, Rob !

If you haven't doe it before, it's fairly easy to kink the ring while working it.

I would cut to the chase, and simply install a replacement stud/ring assembly.

If it appears to clash finish-wise with your rifle, it's easy enough to "antique" the replacement to match.
