I hate when a good deal happens on a firearm I don't need

Post by wm »

CDNN is offering Ruger American Pro 9mm for $299, comes with 2 magazines, and $4.99 shipping. Working with my local dealer that's a brand new Ruger for $330 out the door.

Ugh.

On the other hand maybe a Christmas gift for my son ……. Hmmmm

Bargains will nickel and dime you to death.....

Gun bargains can make you poor.

Like introduction time at the recovery mission..... "Hi I'm Ray and I cannot pass up either a bargain or the last of something that is scarce or rare."

And the junkies reply..... "Hey ray.....welcome !"

I never concern myself with a good gun buy on a gun that is easily found anywhere....anytime......I look at it like, "big deal, I'll save $50 and that $50 will probably go in the gas tank.

When an individual should be concerned is when the opportunity comes up for a $5,000 Winchester or Colt and the price is $2,000 and you let that slip by. ......like that Civil War cartouched Henry I could have had for $4500 back in 1982....or Pretty Boy Floyds Thompson for $3500 back in '76.----6

What's worse is when your holy grail firearm comes up and your flat broke kinda makes you look at at your wife ,kids and the dog and wonder how much you could get for them.Lol

At least you're not a bad as Moi - who once or twice bought a gun just because the ammo for it was on hand...…….

I have no problem passing up a "good deal" on some gun I don't need or want. But it's tough to pass up a good deal on a gun I love, whether I "need" it or not.

Found a set of 480 Ruger reloading dies at a garage sale. Bought 'em! Now I need a gun in that caliber!

I have a problem when a levergun in a caliber I have either NEVER heard of, or have only slight knowledge of comes up for sale at what seems like a steal price. I usually buy it and by the time I buy brass, bullets(or a mold) and dies well it may not have been such a bargain. But I have learned a lot.
