73 toggle links, renewed

Post by M. M. Wright »

Don't you just love opening the box of some new goodies? Well I got a box in today's mail so I'll share it with you. Decided I needed to renew the toggle links in my old 73 SRC so I ordered a new set from Lee Shaver.

Here's what they look like.

I laid one of them in the rifle to see if they looked the same.

They fit right in and only the lever pin needed a little persuasion.

New parts in and all buttoned up. Much tighter but still just as slick. I like it.

I my opinion, the 73 action was pretty good for the times it served, because it's pretty easy to understand and work on, even with only minimal tools.

That's really swell. I didn't know Lee offered replacement links. 8)

Nice!
I'm really glad there are options for the old guns we love.

I tried to get the gun owner to go for those but he was against it right from the get go. The original one arrived yesterday but the gun is at my buddies shop, so Tuesday we will know if it works out.
Congratulations on parts that fit.

That is very neat. It shows just how brilliantly some of the old guns were designed.
