In Texas this is already leading to mass poisoning, because Animal Control considers any hunting option to be 'unsafe'.

They claim that secondary damage in the food chain that may result from poisoned meat that might be consumed by predators is of less concern than wild-eyed rednecks with guns.

I haven't seen any wild hogs here yet. It is probably just a matter of time.
