An old friend in N Cal was a sheep rancher. He averaged 60 coyote a year, and was on the 3rd barrel for his win 94. He was a strapping fellow who at 90 yo would toat a blacktail uphill by his self.

She's adorable-- and young enough to be a granddaughter. :?
Hate to rain on the parade, but I wonder how many tens of thousands of rodents are alive because those 300 canids are dead.
That said, it's a spectacular chandelier.

Well it's not the prairie dog town I just read about in CO, the plague wiped it out!

Yes, Bubonic plague is still around and it seems to like prairie dogs.

As many coyotes as there are, it doesn't seem that we can wipe them out. Typically, when coyote numbers are down they feed on small rodents. When their numbers go up and they form bigger packs is when they prey on deer and other larger mammals. Keeping the coyote numbers down but not out is the key to lower numbers of rodents.

I was wondering how many calves, sheep, small dogs, and cats were alive because of all those skulls?

Vall, that's the other side of the coin. Our coyotes down here in the desert are small -- not much larger than foxes.

I was thinking along the same lines as Val. I know they have a place but I believe it is my duty help as many as possible find a place underground.
