Don't know about the batfe part but Atlanta airport is a "cluster" all by itself! I avoid it and fly in and out of Ft. Lauderdale. only about 45 minute drive between them.

I used to, but then I wondered why I was always is such a hurry. Learned how to slow down and enjoy the trip.

Tycer, are you talking about transiting ATL or leaving from there?
I'll be going through ATL from DFW to JNB next month with 2 checked rifles. Fingers crossed.

Departing ATL. Some airports are slower than others. Almost missed a flight in Orlando due to a 40 minute bag check. Most seem to be 5-15 minutes.

we always went to the atl airport early....checked in and went to have a beer or two.

Re. that lauderdale comment, heck it takes 45 min. between traffic lights on ocean blvd. during peak tourist seasons !
