What would Pitchy do?

Post by Rusty »

My wife was cooking one of those crock pot meals that lasts for several days and is easy and on and on. When the noise had quieted down in the kitchen and I figured the coast was clear I went to the kitchen for some ice water. When I looked in the garbage can there was 8 or 10 empty cans there from various vegetables and such. Being a reloader and a hopeless scrounger I saw those cans and thought, what a waste?

What ca we do with all those empty cans Pitchy?

Don't know about Pitchy, but when we were kids, we used to make tennis ball canons out of them.
Depending on what size cans, of course.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

Well lets see, ya could take your vows again and tie them behind the car and make noise or seeing i`m into telegraphs ya could tie strings on them and run them around the house and use them for phones.
Or ya could set them up and shoot them for target practice. :)

WOW! I don't know about those vows again. The missus might be thinking that sounds like a second 40 year sentence.

Ya could put a can in your trucks cup holder, loose change or .22s , heck any loose ammo.
Good in the shop for any & all kinds of things for storage.
I've seen repairs made to exhaust systems,
The list goes on and on.

The empty cans that are our trash represent wealth and opportunity in some parts of the world. Kind of sad.

Peel the labels off and put them on top of fence posts to scare the crows off your garden at night. When a car comes down the road the lights will reflect off the cans. Years ago a deputy came to our house looking for me. Said a neighbor complained I was cooning his melons and selling them to the darkies that came up from Milwaukee to fish on the fox river at our village on weekends. Mom laughed and told him that I was too lazy to pick our own. They had the village constable stake out the neighbors garden that night. A car came around the curve, its lights picked up the cans and the old polish neighbor came out with a shotgun shooting across the garden. He wore half inch thick glass`s. My dad bawled him out. A few days later we met in front of the village grocery store. He pointed at the sky, and told me "Gott knows!"

When my son and his wife were working their way around New Zealand in a campervan he converted a few cans into Hobo stoves, he said they worked fine.
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.
