Anybody have access to a computer reloading program
I am looking to see pressure on a 35 Remington loaded with a Hornady 250 grain round nose with 35.5 grains of 30331 and a CCI large rifle. Thanks

QuickLoad thinks that'll go 41.3k psi with 39.9k psi being SAAMI max. And it would be a firmly compressed load. That's with normal seating depth for a COAL of 2.525" -- if you are throated to seat the bullet out further it would drop the pressure some of course.

You'd probably need to provide the barrel length.

Just pour a 1/2 pound of Black powder in it, fuse it and stand back!

Re: Anybody have access to a computer reloading program
I used to run QuickLoad but I didn't reload it after my most recent computer rebuild. They still haven't characterized a bunch (any really) of the newer powders from Alliant or Hodgdon. I'm still waiting on MP300 to show up in their library ... then I'll update my version and load it on.

Oh? Haven't you heard of the home appliance slam? That's where you shoot as many failing/faulty peices of your home appliances in a year. In the case of a computer blowing it up falls under the rules of the slam.

Ooops, sorry about leaving out velocity. And I've been gone to the wet side of the mountain a couple of days and didn't watch the thread. Anyway, QL thinks 2050 fps for that load in a 20" bbl.

Re: Anybody have access to a computer reloading program
Thank you Earl. Ok the impetus of this experiment was more related to a 35/30 than a real 35 Remington. I cannot get 35.5 grains of 3031 in the case without crushing the brass. I did not fire it and was not going too it was a theoretical excercise ONLY. The powder compression causes the case to buckle at the neck so back to a safe 34.0 grains.
Thank you for your help Earl.

Re: Anybody have access to a computer reloading program
That's the CIP max, which is often higher than SAAMI. In this case, SAAMI is 34 ksi. In a modern Marlin, the CIP max should be safe.QuickLoad thinks that'll go 41.3k psi with 39.9k psi being SAAMI max...
