.45Colt, there will be a similar event next weekend in a place named Brooks, Oregon -- the annual Steam-up at Powerland. The old-engine and tractor nerds that this attracts are the salt of the earth. Down here in New Mexico there is a shocking dearth of "old iron." I miss it -- and my Gibson tiller-steered tractor and my Fairbanks Morse hit-and-miss engine ...

Those shows have work and craftsmanship on display. Snowflakes cannot stand such good work.

I try to tell people all the time...Pennsylvania has Pittsburg on the left, Philly on the right, and Alabama in between. Gunshows or shoots every weekend...nothing like those communist states. ---6

The mothership of these type shows is the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant, Ia. If you enjoy this type of machinery it's well worth the trip.

I collect old outboards and our International at Tomahawk, Wi draws folks from Great Britain, Sweden, and others. Tis the season.

There is a show like that in early August every year in Goessel, KS. Includes antique steam and gas tractor demos, large and small stationary engines, antique threshing, harvesting machine demos, horse team plowing demos, etc and what not. Also very worth seeing if you are close by and like antique farm and mechanical equipment.

Steam tractor, antique tractors, hit & miss engines etc. at Pawnee OK the first full weekend in May every year. They have a big Corless permanently on display too. It's usually muddy but worth it. You just need your gum boots.
