I Just Found This Map Resource.
You can just about zoom in on the cow pies in the road. And, you can isolate an area and make a PDF and print it.

Not sure just how exact it is. I zoomed into my area. It showed a lake / pond in a parking lot.

I wonder if it was a pond before it was a parking lot? Map layers are tricky to use sometimes.
Use it, or not....I don't care.

Re: I Just Found This Map Resource.
THANKS!!! I live at Cedar City Utah and trail riding is my biggest thing. Right now I am recovering with a new ball and joint. However I have rode most trails around here in a 50 mile radius and this is the best map site I have found. Thanks again!
Re: I Just Found This Map Resource.
Not bad. Fair resolution.
The satellite photo looks to be more than a year old.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

The parking lot is for the hospital I was born in, so it's obviously not an old photo.

Good catch Blaine.
I have not found a Lat-Long display feature, if anyone sees it please let me know.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I used Land Surveying Cad for several years and something like that is not unexpected if you screw up.

Re: I Just Found This Map Resource.
I don't think it shows lat/long. I've found the USGS site prints maps that have all the map data we are used to. The problem is unless you've got one heck of a printer you're either going to get a very small area or not enough detail.
When I needed a topo map and didn't have time to get a "real" one I have downloaded and printed out a bunch of 8.5x11 pages. Works but is a PIA.

The street map is missing my house but the imagery layer has it there.

Re: I Just Found This Map Resource.
Is it just me or do others find forest service boundary markings inconsistent and anomalous as far as orientation and direction ?
You know, the red blazing and yellow "land behind this sign" metal tags.
Example, you're facing the sign and see the red blazing radiating out from it. More often than not you're standing on uncle's land and the land actually behind the sign is private.
Like slick willie's "depends on what your definition of "is" is", unless you already know which direction uncle's forest lies you can have troubles unintentionally trespassing.
Here is a crude illustration of an area that i frequent:
(Five hundred acres +/- with single family dwelling and out buildings.)
(yellow "land behind this sign" boundary marker and red blazing on trees)
you are facing sign
behind you is national forest
(38,500 acres uncle's forest)
Doesn't that seem bassackwards ?
In other places, especially on a roadway, the forest service land lies actually "behind" the sign.....that is to say in front of you while you are facing the sign.
