We just finished the Telegraph reader needs some fine tuning and stain but works pretty good.

I haven’t messed with Morse since high school. It’s a darned good thing that once you get your ticket you aren’t required to retest.

Something like this would be great as I could take my time reading it. The code is still there but it’s buried under so much stuff it takes a while to bring it back to the surface.

Then again no one really uses it anymore.

There`s something wrong with the wiring, the operator wouldn`t be there to turn on the motor that runs the paper when the message came in.
If i wire the paper motor to the solenoid it would stop between letters so that wouldn`t work, wonder how one would wire that ?

Figured it out, dang operator couldn`t run over and turn the paper on when a message came in, wired it to the solenoid and there`s enough delay in the pen lifting and lowering to make the spaces between the letters.
Works good and when i get the new key installed it will be a dandy. :)

Thanks Grizz, don`t know what good they are i just like setting up displays of old stuff.
This is a replica resonator box we made for the key and sounder that`s coming in a few days, they would wedge a tobacco can behind the sounder so it would make a different sound so the rr guy could tell which sounder was getting a message.

Pitchy....the Morse Telegraph Club is just a couple of miles from the gunclub I belong to......as the crow flies, maybe 25 miles from here. The Strasberg Railroad museum is really cool with operating steam locomotives you can take a ride on. -----6

Hey Pitchy, have you ever used morse code?

during wwII signal corpsmen could type incoming coded messages, which looked like a random hash, and read a book at the same time!! think about it!! this went to the guy who decrypted traffic...

I think you are already there.
