The Numberphile podcasts are interesting in and of themselves for math lovers, but I thought you guys might like this one.

The second video is automatically linked to I believe, but if not, here is the second one https://youtu.be/Hb44bGY2KdU.

Fascinating how in the pre-electronic-computer age they had such technology. At Bletchley Park they made a mechanical computer to fight the Enigma. http://home.bt.com/tech-gadgets/crackin ... 3990654704

I have a book here on that called THE ULTRA SECRET. It's fascinating story.

At one point midway thru the war the machines were being made in Poland. A factory worker some how smuggled one of the machines out and gave it to the allies. The OSS many times knew what the orders were before the Germans. They got so good at it that they could even tell when orders were coming direct from Hitler instead of one of his generals because Hitler was such a poor military planner.

The best Ultra story was about taking the president off the list. Apparently someone just threw some messages into a regular trash can. He was put back on after some serious butt chewing.

Yep..

In the end the Nazis made it easy for them though by
signing every status report with "Hiel Hitler".

I won't spoil it for anybody, but that was some real sad "stuff" going on in England at the time.
