I've been hiding this one
I bought this 686+, unfluted, 7" barrel about 8 years ago. I sent it back within the first month for the factory Master Revolver Package. (Worth every penny of $150).
I wanted a range toy and this fit the bill perfectly. Last August I decided I wanted to inquire with S&W about their hand engraving services. My "budget" allowed 50% fine scroll coverage of the frame and cylinder. The service included inspecting and replacing parts (mainspring replaced and cylinder tightened up), complete refinishing, hand engraving, and a letter of authentication including the engravers card.
Real hard to photograph polished stainless, but it still shows pretty well. This is way more than I thought I would get with 50% coverage.
Yes, I still shoot it.

That is quite tastefully done, very very nice indeed.....
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

You've been "hiding it"??? Well, how about if you hide it at my place? I like that.......there's something about Smith & Wesson/Colt factory engraving ....to me, it's always more tastefully done.-----6
While the stocks are OK, a set of smooth rosewood magna style with pre war nickel silver medallions would really set it off nice.

Very pretty. Never owned an engraved handgun.....or rifle.....or shotgun for that matter.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

If you are interested in even having your initials engraved here's the link. Roz Sousa is the person you'll speak with and get sample pictures from. Real easy process and no pressure.

Re: I've been hiding this one
I really like engraved guns, and having it done by someone through the factory just makes it even more appealing. The engraver did a very nice job!
