Some lady at a garage sale gave it to the kid, i gave him 50 just because he`s broke as usual.
I`ll have to string it up and see how it shoots but to darn hot today.

Nice grab, Pitchy - my first bow was a new Ben Pearson Signature takedown bow, that I bought in the early 1970's - but the one I had was a recurve that had aluminum interlocking blocks that accepted a through-bolt.

The arrow rest, believe it or not, was a feather (turkey ?) glued to the riser.

It was pretty accurate, shooting across my dooryard (30yds).

Unfortunately, I had to give up bow hunting (well before crossbows were allowed here) due to having an operation that left my delts unable to draw a bow.

Very Nice. I couldn't pass that up either! It's dangerous, it's too easy to become a bow collector. My first, about 47 years ago, was a Bear Kodiak that came with 6 aluminum arrows, 2 of which are still shootable. Then year before last I bought a hickory flat bow to finish and shoot. Then last year I bought a Primal Gear 40# folding bow, which I like a LOT, it's my main bow at the moment.

I'm a little leery of the Bear, thinking of backing it with something to mitigate limb failure. So far I've only shot it about 2/3 draw, but those aluminum arrows have good penetration.

So there you have it. Well, plus the kid's starter I picked up for my grandkids. And the kids compound I gave my younger son last century....

It's dangerous, collecting bows like that.....

Yeah, but...………. collecting bows & knifes is a lot less expensive the collecting guns - and you can amass SOooooo many !

I only have four bows at this time, one Bowtec Liberty, two long bows and a recurve.
60 pounds is getting plenty heavy for this guy, my main long bow is 55 but 40-50 would be plenty for target practice.

YaBut, Pitchy,

It' s a great pattern. So much better than putting 6 broadheads in the same place. With your system you've multiplied lethality, and there is a much better chance to recover all the arrows. Yes Sir, I call that good shooting... :)

And anyhow, I recognize it from my target!

What a find!! And 1954 was a truly vintage year!
Kirk: An old geezer who loves the smell of freshly turned earth, old cedar rail fences, wood smoke, a crackling fireplace on a snowy evening, pristine wilderness lakes, the scent of
cedars and a magnificent Whitetail buck framed in the semi-buckhorn sights of a 120-year old Winchester.
