Re: Rossi safety delete
I have them on the Rossi's I would demand 100% reliability from (home protection, maybe bear hunting), because the factory one is too wishy-washy and prone to flipping on/off randomly or if bumped.

.
I did the delete in two different ways, both of which afforded zeroing within 3 shots, due to being located directly above the bore C/L.
First was a bolt peep I made from a Skinner LoPro peep before Steve ( www.stevesgunz.com ) started marketing his excellent safety replacement peepsight
To anchor it, I first made a plug from a scrounge box Remington crossbolt safety button, then D/T'd the center for the LoPro.
I had special ordered the LoPro with a 6-48 stem ILO the standard/larger stem, in order to leave enough "meat" in the replacement plug for the D/T. (aka: a man with a plan)
The other was to fashion a safety replacement plug likewise from an old Remington cross-bolt safety button, so I could install a conventional side-mount receiver peepsight ( a Williams 5D-94SE) in a very low position w/o impeding the bolt travel.

Re: Rossi safety delete
Plus one for the peep replacement from stevesgunz.
Re: Rossi safety delete
Somehow a drop of blue Loctite fell on to the little ball detent that SUPPOSEDLY keeps the safety in position. The safety got stuck in the fire position and I have not felt the need to fix it.

Re: Rossi safety delete
I was just looking at a Rossi Rio Grande at a local gun shop the other day and it had one of the Skinner sights replacing the safety. Very nice bit of fix.
The price of the on consignment Rio Grande was remarkably high. I mean a thousand dollars higher then I would have generally expected.
Somebody must really loves that gun and does not want to sell it.

Somewhere on Youtube there's a video of a guy that took and .25 ACP case and shortened it down so that it would fit in that hole. He then took out the factory safety and epoxied the shell casing into the hole.
