I had a whole other REM cycle to complete when you took that photo.
And what was the cartridge of choice for this particular activity? What kind of average distance is a PD shoot in that part of the country?

Beautiful.....
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Gee, if I got up at oh-dark-thirty and headed east to shoot anything -- All I'd see is this!
Hope the shootin' was great!

Quite pretty. With my schedule I'm already at work (often in a dark hole) so I miss sunrises. Thanks for showing me how gorgeous they can be.

22 PPC
6mm PPC
222 Remington magnum
224 Weatherby Magnum
22-250
17 Remington
Average distance is 250 with some closer and as many as you want to shoot out to and beyond 600 yards...

Sounds likes fun. But you dont even have .30 cal with, much less a .40 or .45 single shot! Is this a first? Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: What You See When You Leave Early Morning To Shoot Prairie Dogs
I read countless articles when I was a kid comparing the 22-250 and the 220 Swift for varmint hunting.
I also like to take a lot of guns out when I go shooting. It never occurs to me that I'm going to spend 5 hours cleaning them all when I get home. Still ... worth it.

Re: What You See When You Leave Early Morning To Shoot Prairie Dogs
Prairie dog shooting was fun back when I was a kid. Too far to drive for a 1 or 2 day trip now. I see sunrises when driving to work at least twice a week.
