Parker VH 16 gauge

Post by 6pt-sika »

I received a Parker VH 16 gauge on an 0 frame with 26” barrels IC/M . A friend in NC sold it to me last week and another friend from here at home picked it up in Sanford NC this past weekend at the Southern Side by Side . Also got a pretty decent Leg O Mutton case from the same gentleman .

I had planned on flying down Saturday with another friend and pick it up myself but other matters kept that from happening

If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Have three Parker 16’s now . A circa 1911 GH on a 1 frame that someone trimmed the barrels on awhile back . Another I got from Wild West Guns in Anchorage back in December it’s a VH 1 frame 28” from 1906 if my memory serves . I’d still like to acquire the DHE I mentioned a couple weeks ago , but if I can’t get it I’ve got plenty Parker 16’s now although a VH 30” F&F might be nice , had one thirty years ago VH 16 30” #1 frame F&F with a straight grip stock and traded it off like a dumba.s

.

Congrats !

That reminds me of the 1937 Parker (Remington era) 16ga VHE Skeet Gun in 98% original condition that I once had.

What wasn't to like: straight grip to a checkered butt, selective ejectors, single trigger, VR , and skeet-in/skeet-out chokes.

I had traded a NIB Browning Model 42 straight up for it.

We put in a 5-stand at our club a month or so ago and a group shoot on Tuesday evenings after work . So I went out yesterday and tried this new to me Parker didn’t do great and didn’t do horrendous but there’s plenty room for improvement . Improvement in me that is the gun did fine LOL’s !
