Odd they kept the tube loading in place with side gate. I guess it does allow for a quick unload. Nice to see them always working on their product line.

Wow ... they got around to adding King's Improvement 150+ years after the fact.

My Rossi 454 Casull and Rossi 44 Magnum leverguns have BOTH, and I like that. The side-port is the more 'tactical' one in that you can slip in another round with the gun at-ready, but realistically, the tube-loader's ability to quickly load and unload a full magazine without the wear-and-tear on thumb and brass casings, and with winter mittens on, is more practical, if ungainly. Great to have both.

Henry seems to be trying to grow and evolve their product line.

Pretty neat. A blued version would be a Henry I could see myself owning.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.

\\ I'd say if they went to the side loading gate on their whole line they would increase market share quite a bit.

Good that they listen to their customers 8) wish they would make .32/20 although their current centrefire rifles are a bit on the heavy side.

150 years after a loading gate was added to a Henry rifle, Henry decided to add a loading gate to their rifles...

"The best of both worlds" is right. No need to extract loaded cartridges from the magazine through the action.

Neat, about time. I hope they offer steel versions in the future.

I wonder if they chambered it for the 'long' case? I've always liked the 38-55 and I'd be interested in a steel version, not real fond of the shiney brass...

I wondered the same thing! Wonder also if they kept the traditional .379"-.380" groove, or went with the wrong .375" groove?
