Prayer Request For Mozambique

Post by JimT »

Cyclone Kenneth is about to hit the area where I lived in Mozambique. I have lots of friends and family there. Prayers are appreciated.

All I know of Mozambique is what I have learned from Jim's posts with all those photographs of smiling faces, they have my prayers for sure.
I only wish that all that money raised for the Notre Dame Cathedral had been sent to help god's children in Africa instead.
The Cathedral Vs human lives, what would the almighty do ?
If more men loved and cherished their wives as much as I love bacon the world would be a much better place.

Thank you Gamekeeper .... I can tell you that Samaritan's Purse was there before the cyclone hit. It hit land about 3 hours ago ... centered 62 miles north of Pemba. Winds around 140 MPH. The storm surge at Pemba could be as high as 16 feet. And the big problem is, once it hit land it slowed down. The forecast is for 2 to 3 feet of rain in the next couple days.

I was there when we got 16 inches of rain in 2 days and that was a disaster. Roads washed out. Bridges washed away. Houses washed away ... other collapsing. I have friends on Relief Teams who are standing by and will go in as soon as they can to help with food, water, medicine and shelter.

Thank you for the prayers!
