Jack Daniel's on the kitchen floor.............

Post by Old No7 »

Whew, at least I didn't spill my drink!

Yup, he slept by my feet for ~3 hours today while I worked on a project; and he's learned a few commands already too.

My l'il buddy Jack Daniel's has put on 7+ pounds in the 3 weeks he's been home, and he's grown into his JD collar much sooner than we expected... But he wears it well!

He's really eager to please too -- just like my other Jack...

Glad to hear!!!!!! :D Had to put our dog of 13 years down from complications of liver cancer  A very sad thing to go through. But, on the bright side, we have a chance to fill the hole in our hearts with a new dog next weekend. there is a maryland dog festival going on at charles county fairgrounds where 13 different shelters and placement agencies are there to help find our next puppy. we have beeen looking at the local pounds and classifieds but to no avail. half the dogs up for adoption are pit bills or pit mix. Just not our cup of tea

Congratulations old no 7. There is no dog like a lab puppy. Just keep you shoes locked up when not on your feet😂
Rossim92 good luck with your search. A new puppy does not replace an old friend but it’s kinda like spray foam a little gets in the hole them expands to cover it up, but the hole is still there it just don’t leak anymore.

Interesting way of putting it...

I'll have to mention that to my wife, as she said she'd "Never get another dog..." after putting her yellow lab down last May... It took her awhile, but she finally came around to knowing there was a big hole we needed to fill, and another lab would be just the thing to do it. But we did select a black male this time around, mostly so that she wouldn't think of her other one all the time -- but also so I could name him after my favorite adult beverage.

Training is going well, and the few accidents he had in the house were more our fault than his -- but he's getting better at sending signals, and we're getting better at reading them too.

Good luck to rossim92 in your search for a new pup!

Cheers to all!

You never can replace a great dog, but you can start a new chapter with a new dog. Maybe the reason that we live longer is so that we can provide a home and love to more than one dog in a lifetime.

PillHer just let our chiweenie puppy out on accident on Wednesday and she has disappeared. PillHer is unconcerned and the three other dogs are still looking for her. I am still looking for her, too.
