.

Once upon a time (mid 1970's), I had a then new .30-06 Browning Grade I BAR, upon which I top mounted a Williams WGRS receiver peepsight.

The one I has was marked "made in Belgium" & "assembled in Portugal".

It was reliable, accurate and pretty good-looking (IMHO), over the 5 or 6 years I owned it.

For hunting, I reduced the shiny finish via applying a coat of paste wax, letting the wax dry w/o cleaning/rubbing it off.

I took one of the biggest Maine Whitetail bucks I've run across with it, the Fall after I bought it.

Here you go. A Belgium browning M-7 serial # 2069 that my favorite uncle bought new way back and I inherited from my dad. Dad shot his last buck with it at about 86 years old I believe it is a first year. I have a 2<7 Leopold on it.

Forgot to say it`s also 30-06. Does anyone make a hi cap magazine for it? It could be a ultimate battle rifle on D-Day!

It would be kind of hard to get a 30/06 in a 308 magazine

And equally hard to explain why a .308 wouldn't do just as well as a .30-06 in a battle rifle.
