My Dad's old 1945 sporterized Jungle carbine
Finally got my Dad's Old Jungle Carbine from my brother it was a dirty mess when he handed it over, the magazine was a rusted mess luckily there was no rust on the gun probably because there was a quarter inch of dust on it, the bore is spotless.....my brother isn't one to take care of firearms.
My Dad sporterized it back in the early 70's so don't come down on me for doing it.....lol
He put a Fajen stock on it and thats it,gotta love those old walnut Fajen stocks........only thing I might change is the flash suppresser,Gun Parts corp. sells one that is ported and doesn't have the bayonet lug on it same sights just no lug
My Dad killed many a deer with it back in the day so I my need to take it out next deer season to keep his memory alive, that ghost ring peep on it is pretty accurate.
Oh yeah that is a left hand stock my Dad shot left hand and so do I.
Also it's a REAL British .303 Lee Enfield No.5 Mk 1

Thanks!
It brought back a lot of memories when I held it again.
I remember my Dad sitting out in the garage reloading British .303 ammo for it with his Lee hand Loader

That is really cool.
I got one for my little cousin on his 16th birthday and he hunted deer, coyotes, and bear with it exclusively for the next 15 years or so stacking up a big pile of dead critters. They are handy and certainly get the job done.

Hey Tom that is very cool. Good for you. Next time you come over bring it. We will introduce it to my Dad’s sporterized 1917Eddystone.

That's the nicest looking No5 I've seen, no need to keep them military if you have it purely for hunting......
Like Joe said, I wouldn't change a thing.

That is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. It reminds me of when I was a kid, I'd look at my uncle's Herter's catalogs. They used to have stuff like that in there in living color. All I could do was dream.

Love those Enfields. My middle son has one of the Savage built ones marked US Property, also nicely sporterized. Even better I won it in a drawing.
It's a No4 MkI*

Very nice! I grew up in a house full of military sporters so have a definite soft spot for them. I have an original No.5 as well as one of the Navy Arms converted Ishapore .308s. I enjoy shooting them both, but that original butt pad on the No.5 is a killer. Not surprised that so many were reworked.
