135,000 ft-lbs.....!

Post by AJMD429 »

I just recently got a gift card from a patient, and decided to use it to purchase a Magpul 50 round 308 magazine.

The gun is heavy and ungainly, and, I really wish I had the same magazine for my M1A, but here is what 18 rounds did at a hundred yards.

The shots up at the top of the target are from my lever action 357, but the big ragged hole at the bottom was from 18 shots out of the DPMS AT-10.

The ammunition was what I believe to be Austrian military surplus, and 2 out of the 20 rounds failed to fire, despite what looks like good firing pin indentations. I've never had any issues with this rifle otherwise.

I just still can't get over a 50-round magazine for 308.... 8) Even in 22 LR that is an impressive amount of firepower. My MagPul 60-round 23 drum only provides 90,000 ft-lbs....

Very cool and it's not as dangerous as those nasty 30 round mags I've been hearing about....

And!!! Morning Blow-hard Scaredtoknow said on his talk show that the .308 is smaller and less powerful than 5.56 NATO. So you don't have a scary gun. Mika Brzinski's little bobbitized husband said it on air, and you know that those Liberals with a talk show are the most knowledgeable people on the planet.

that's a good group Doc.

but what happened to the other 32 rounds?

I wonder if there is a drum mag for my PTR91

I need plenty of ammo because seeing double, I can never be sure which is the real deer... plus, the three beads complicate the sight picture that much more . . .

I've got a couple battle packs of Hirtenberger 7.62, it's HOT stuff! Goes through 1/2" mild steel at 200 yards. Wonder if that mag would work in my Armalite... Oh what am I saying - anything more than 10 is against the law here!!

Great shooting! Brownell's released my D-50 back order and I received it the other day.

Yeah I get that. I always thought that a photo of a thousand guys with G3 clones with 50 round drums and a caption of MAKING AMERICA GREATER would cause some psychotic symptoms in the terrified politician class...
