I just got home from Griffin &Howe, figured to look at the racks, see if there was anything I had to have...
Probably a half dozen Parker 12s, a couple 16s and a 10.

There’s varying degrees to this . There’s “need to have” which is pretty much non existent anymore , there’s “had to have” which is no will power (I suffer from this) and finally there’s “would like to have” I also suffer from this . Usually the ones “I would like to have” are also THE ones I can’t afford

On the way home from the gun club! From 26/27 yards it rolls them up . I had the wobble machine on for a bit of added challenge , the old gun takes a little effort to get it going but it reaches out and scratches them down . Shot a box at trap then switched to skeet ! Doubles at station four mostly , out shot the second bird about half dozen times in what would likely be called out of bounds and crushed it . Now for the down side , after shooting two boxes pretty darn quick my arms were worn out from raising and lowering that big devil .

The DHE 16 speculation is on the back burner until further notice . I did just make a verbal deal for a Parker VH 16 gauge on an 0 frame with 26” barrels provided the gun says it was 26” in the factory stock book , the guns not in the serialization book or we’d know . Anyway if it checks out it’ll come back to Virginia from the Southern weekend after this coming

The gun isn’t in the serialization book and the stock book containing this number is missing . However over the years I’ve weighed a bunch of Parker’s and “generally” the weight that’s struck on the underside of the barrels is usually within an ounce or two of the actual weight for the barrel and forend combined . Struck weight was marked as 2 pounds 10 ounces and actual weight for the barrels and forend is 2 pounds 9 1/2 ounces . So I’m about 98% sure the barrels are correct .

Wood seems to be okay other then a poorly added pad which is easy enough to remedy .

Chokes constrictions are about IC for the right and M for the left . Provided I haven’t lost what little ability I had this one oughtta make a pretty decent dove and preserve gun . Also hoping it patterns #1 Buck well out to 25-30 yards .

You can see in this pic the pads an older Pachmayer and it wasn’t fit that well either . Thought I’d put a Hawkins pad on it , but I might go on and put a KickEez on it . I have a KickEez on my VH 12 gauge 2 frame 30” and that thing grinds up trap and Sporting targets .
