Finally

Post by 6pt-sika »

The 10mm shellplate arrived for the new Lee Loadmaster . I knew it was arriving today but didn’t think the mail would arrive so early . I took all my stuff to the shop to be prepared to set it up Tuesday . But I was able to get it setup and made two dummy rounds with cast 180 and 200 grainers . I hadn’t taken my 1911 along to see if they chambered okay , but I’ll take it with me Tuesday and hopefully load a couple hundred live rounds .

I’ve been contemplating setting up a third Loadmaster for the 30 Carbine , but most likely not.

Went by the range on the way home and tried a dozen or so of the NOE 180 grainers at 25 yards . They did okay ! May go back tommorrow.

Yes I do ! I have a Leupold Deltapoint to mount on it but I’ve been waiting on the mount for atleast two months . Seems you need a different Leupold mount for a Kimber 1911 over other 1911’s . We ordered a generic Leupold 1911 mount and something wasn’t exactly correct went back and looked and they made a different mount for a Kimber . Had the mount on backorder for two months atleast . Now with that being said I’m pretty sure I’ll be okay with the Deltapoint if I keep my shots to thirty yards or less , probably be okay further but I’ve not shot it any past thirty so far .

I was going to try my G 20 at 50 yards at my range over last weekend but wind was howling there (as usual).
Glad to hear of another hunter here going with the 10ml for deer :D

I’d like to plunk a deer with each of the bullets I loaded today eventually . But I also have a nice old blued Redhawk 44 scoped that I’ve got ready with several different cast bullets as well as a 10” scoped Contender in 44 . Hopefully if we get damage control permits on the same farm as last year I can get out and shoot some with the handguns .
