Yep, and AR-15's pose more threat to imposition of tyranny than handguns, whereas handguns are used to murder WAY more people than 'assault weapons'....so the fact that politicians are focused on 'assault weapons' pretty much reveals their intent, now doesn't it....the gun-control advocates couldn't care less about murder - they just want to remove the citizens' liberty teeth...

The same logic reveals their intent to confiscate firearms because there is very clear data to indicate that background checks absolutely do NOT reduce any kind of violence (and in fact are associated with a slight increase in violence against non firearms owning women who are the victims of violent ex-husbands and the like, because unlike criminals, or those of us who already own firearms, their purchase of potentially life-saving equipment gets delayed sometimes to their lethal detriment). There are also plenty of mechanisms where background checks could be done not only by dealers, but by ordinary citizens, WITHOUT any registration taking place, but those who pretend to want to make the streets safe via 'universal background checks' refuse to implement background checks without registration, so clearly all they want is registration, and they don't care AT ALL about reducing harm to innocent people.

Those who advocate 'gun control' need to have these facts explained to them. If they are simply naively following what they thought would be good for society, facts will change their minds, but if they are full of irrational hate or evil intent, they will continue to advocate for gun control. Those people need called out and shamed publicly...!
