Way back when those Hughes choppers were nicknamed 'Loach' after their designation as 'Light Observation Helicopter'. I never saw one that wasn't outfitted as a gun ship and it was common for the dudes in the glass bubble to carry pre-made charges of TNT/C-4 to drop into the mouths of bunkers and spider holes. The rotors and turbines made a very distinctive buzzing sound that reminded me of a nest of upset hornets.

If you got to crash a bird that's the best one to ride it out in there's a solid bulkhead between the pilot and rear area just keep your fingers and toes tucked in, the bird will roll like a egg. danny
