This is the way I remember most of December, and all of January and February when I was growing up here in the 60's and 70's. I remember cutting and hauling wood when it was -25 and it didnt seem that bad with no wind in the woods. Todd/3leg

In Dallas, we have some people who wear heavy coats at 45 degrees. They wear jackets at 60 degrees and complain. Not everyone does this, but a few are certainly in this category. 0 degrees, or below, is just not something we see here. July and August may bring 110 degrees, and sometimes for several days in a row. It seems that people around here have just adapted to the heat.

I hope everyone up North can stay warm.

It mostly what you get used to. Right now, a 40-degree day would feel warm, but come September the first 50 degree day will feel cold.... :D

Living in the NE humidor I much prefer the fall/ winter months. You can always put on more clothes to stay warm. During the summer when the humidity is at or near 90-95% is just miserable! Sweating is one thing but when you are wet from environmental reasons - yuck! I'll take the cold!

We were only -2 F yesterday, and 0 F today in central Maine.

(Motorbikes slumber in the garage......)

Pitchy was -44Fyesterday - that's 76 degrees of Frost!!! Yikes!!

We're supposed to be near 50 next Tuesday. We'll see how much trouble
the warm air has working in at the surface.

It's about -20 F at my house here in Fairbanks AK this morning. Cottonwood MN, we've felt your pain before. The thing that works in your favor is you have enough sunshine during the day to warm things up a little.

Here near Dallas, we are supposed to get to 80 degrees Monday or Tuesday. We have weather that changes all the time. As long as records have been kept, the weather has always changed.

I lived in NYC a half century ago and regularly drove north thru the New England states. Vermont in winter would get twenty and more degrees below zero, it was considered normal then, 'cause, it was Winter!

It's hilarious that all the breathless shock about the freezing cold weather is that most of the perplexed people reading the teleprompters WERE NOT ALIVE THEN.

AND, they've been beneficiaries of GLOBAL WARMING all this time, and the instant it starts changing they are whining like 1 year olds.. I laugh every time I hear these "weather reports". If and when humans do stop climate warming, that's exactly when the next ice age begins. NYC area was once UNDER a mile or more of ice. As was the Puget Sound area on the west side.

exactly as this shooter posted

[\preaching]what the climate alarmists don't ken is that yod hey vav hey makes the weather and controls the weather and allows it to do whatever He wants it to do. The idea that human beings have sovereign control of the climate is as STUPID and CLUELESS as it is possible to get. That whole thought process, if it could truly be construed as either thought or processing anything, comes straight from hell's pit to steal and kill and destroy...[\preaching-off]

going after a refill and processing some more thoughts.

keep the powder dry, it works better when it isn't frozen, and remember to get every bit of oil out of the firearms before taking them out into the polar vortex, and don't forget to zip up, and have a blessed day.....

Had our first naturist guest of the year today. The air temp may have been hovering around 70*F... the pond water is still around 35*F...

Folks here in southwestern TN amuse me to no end. I grew up in the Cascade Range, been snowed on several times crossing the passes July 4th weekends. They don’t have winter here...And have no clue how much better hunting and shooting is down here... Out there, 1 deer by 1 method, period. My place here is a family farm, no license/tag, 3 doe per day archery AND muzzleloader AND modern rifle PLUS an extra week for landowners.

Right now it is still in the 60s. At 1832hrs Central

I lived in Michigan for several years in the 1950's. Back then it was called WINTER.
