We have "designer" soda around here....At two to five bucks a bottle, they can keep it.

We’ve got Cheerwine here and it isn’t terrible . But I’d like to try that Blenheim Ginger Ale .

Michigan's stand bys are Vernors Ginger Ale and the dozen or so flavors of Faygo.

I still get Vernor's sometimes....To me, it's gotten sweeter and not as ginger-strong as in the past.

I grew up on Cheerwine, and I'd pretty much agree on that. But, now, the Blenheim -- well, there's just NOTHING better to mix with a nice, smooth rye or bourbon, or even just plain, ice-cold on a hot day. They make it in 2 strengths -- strong, and STRONG. Spicy and refreshing.

I know what you mean by STRONG I had some boutique Ginger Ale at a resteraunt in Manila it had a great flavor but it would open your sinuses oh yeah it was made in Australia if memory serves .Pisgah wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:03 pmI grew up on Cheerwine, and I'd pretty much agree on that. The only one I am personally acquainted with is grapico.
It enjoys a bit of a wider dispersion than the article gives credit as it is carried in most dollar general stores.
My grandparents were fond of r.c. cola and moon pie for tea time.
Royal Crown sodas were a penny or two cheaper than the coke and pepsi products of the era.

Sodas are chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. I have never had one, preferring shakes instead.

The very best soft drinks I ever had were in ROK...Their orange soda was just like biting into a real orange. One bottle of orange, and one combat bottle of soju mixed in those ubiquitous gold-colored kettles and a whole bunch of Korean munchies....the living was cheap and grand. When I had money, OB Beer was the choice. I don't know how I made it out of ROK with an intact liver.
