A Parable for Sunday

Post by JimT »

A traveler was going from Jericho to Tarsus and fell among thieves who beat him and took all his possessions, leaving him naked and dying. A priest went by and looked at him but did not help him because he was a different denomination. A lawyer went by but he had to go bury his dad so he did not stop. A Samaritan stopped and picked him up and took him to the inn but there was no room in the inn for him so he wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger.

When he got well he boarded a ship for Tarsus. On the way he looked over the side and saw a fish with a coin in its mouth and he said "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's." Then he tried to walk on water but got scared looking at the wind and waves and sank and the fish swallowed him. He was in the fish's belly 3 days and 3 nights, but because he was lukewarm and neither cold nor hot the fish spewed him out on dry land.

He went on from there and came to a man's field and sowed tares among the wheat. The tares grew up and became a great tree, so big the birds built nests in it. But that tree had bad fruit. A lady named Eve ate one of them and it was so bad she tried to persuade her husband to eat one, but he said, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come."

The traveler went on until he came to castle. High in the castle window sat Jezebel and when she saw him she laughed at him. So he said, "Throw her down from there!" and they threw her down. He said, "Throw her down again." and they threw her down again. He said, "Throw her down some more." so they threw her down seventy times seven and of the fragments they picked up 12 baskets full. Now whose wife will she be in the resurrection?

No ones wife. This is a riddle, not a parable. And besides, after the resurection, we are the Lord's, and belong to no one else.

P.S. Wasn't Jezebel a Godless heathen (no doubt a democrat), so she she should be barking in a hot place. :D
P.P.S. An inspirational flash is hinting of Melchezidec, but I don't see how it ties in, other than pre-Eden history.
