Mossberg joins the handgun manufacturing brotherhood .......
Mossberg announced the MC1 (similar to Glock 43, Ruger LC9, & S&W Shield).

I like some of the features I see …… using Glock magazines is a great idea which are everywhere, inexpensive, and widely praised for its reliability & quality which eliminates a lot of issues often encountered in other firearms.
And I like that it seems to be made in America.

Re: Mossberg joins the handgun manufacturing brotherhood .......
Mossberg has always been quietly manufacturing good quality firearms, yet never really gets the fame and fortune of the 'big players'. They actually made match-grade barrels for some of the Zel 'uppers' in 338 Lapua, 50 BMG, and the 'in-between' chamberings.
Handgun-wise, though - I pretty much just like exposed-hammer handguns, so that limits my alternatives.

When I saw the tittle, I was hoping for a revolver. Should have known better.

Still looking over the market for various compact 9mm handguns. But I wont purchase any gun the first year they are offered. Might turn out to be a great gun, but I try not to be the first guy to find out if a gun has problems.

I agree. Fortunately we live in a time when very good, reliable, accurate and inexpensive handguns are everywhere in the market. Hard to find something that you wont like within any reasoanble budget. Don't like the LC9 or Shield? How about a Sig 365 or a Bersa or a Kahr or ......marlinman93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 12:38 pm Still looking over the market for various compact 9mm handguns. But what continues to annoy me is the price of magazines. I sure would like to know what their mark up is on those.
Wait ..... never mind ..... don't tell me. I don't need the aggravation.

I was in Las Cruces yesterday and stopped at Sportsmans' Warehouse hoping to handle a Sig P365, but they were out -- and out of Springfield's XDS single stack, too.
Good to see Mossberg innovating. I'm sure interested.

Gosh, another polymer frame striker fired handgun? I'm excited. (yawn)
Seriously, it's interesting. Mossy jumping into the pool right now means either their marketing thinks they can sell it, or else someone doesn't have a clue about what's available now.
I like Mossberg, good functional 'stuff', most of the time.
However, I am reminded of their offering of their lever action, the 464. It was an average gun, but lots of start-up problems.
(speaking of getting into the handgun market, did they talk to Remington about the R1 issues? that didn't go well either)
I could say I personally think this is a bad decision, but then again I thought the Taurus Judge was stupid also. And you can see how many they've sold.
Nothing bad meant toward Mossberg, and I really, really wish them well.

Is that a plastic trigger? Or just an ugly shaped casting?
