Piller, I had somehow missed your location. Always meant to explore Waxahachie when visiting my daughter during her Baylor years, but never did.

It is nothing like what you see in movies or on TV. Pretty much a medium sized town with quite a few things to look at. Our Courthouse is quite picturesque. Southwestern Assemblies of God University has a picturesque campus. Lots of what are called Gingerbread houses. A real good catfish restaurant that is reputed to be haunted. There are lots more things to see, but I better stop the topic drift.

It was $1.839 tonight when I got off work after 11:00 pm.

Just to be sure, Baylor is in Waco. That is where Dr Pepper was invented back about 40 years before Coca Cola was invented. Waxahachie is South of Dallas on Interstate 35. The supposedly haunted restaurant is the Catfish Plantation. It is certainly good food, but the haunted house stories give it a lot of business.

Piller, yes, I have toured the Dr. Pepper museum and of course the Texas Ranger museum -- and bought the requisite "way too many" kolaches from the Czech bakery in West.

The first time I took my parents through West, I told them we were in West, Texas. My Mother told me that I was crazy. I pointed out the city limit sign, and she just stared at it. I took everyone for kolaches. My Mother got the fruit kolaches. We all had a good time.

$2.35 at a single chain grocery store's gas station (among many dozens) here - all other gas stations in the area are from $0.08 to $0.30 per gallon higher.

I saw it at $173.99 just a few days ago. At these prices, I am not worried about filling up unless I need it.

OKC was $1.63 for gas and $2.39 for diesel last week. Denver has it for $1.82 and home is still probably $2.70's (my opinion is that the grinch is alive and well at home)

I had to take my daughter to the Seattle airport today. She ran my van down on gas so I had to get some gas here to make it to Olympia to fill up at Costco, which is about a 30 mile drive. I paid 3.399 locally and 2.699 at Costco. The local merchants only get my business when I am really low on fuel. I bought ONE gallon of gas at the local highway robbery price and filled up in Olympia. A 70 cent price differential is unacceptable in my opinion!
