Prayer Request — For My Mother <Updated>

Post by Old No7 »

< < < Updated on Post #23, with a couple of pictures -- Thanks all > > >

Well gang, just a few days after I’d posted on the “intercessory prayer” posting, it is my turn for such a request...

I am on overnight watch with my Mom tonight...

On that posting mentioned above, it seems we could pray for “Healing the sick” or for “Helping them into Heaven”.

As much as I’d like it to be the former — the Docs all say it will be the latter, maybe in just days or a couple of weeks max. My Mom wants to make it through past Christmas and her wedding anniversary on Boxing Day, the 26th. But we just don’t know, nor have any control...

The Faithful man in me accepts all this, but the “little boy” hidden deep inside is having some troubles with it... But I am comforted by her comments earlier this evening that she is SO excited to see what Heaven looks like! She is eager to see her mother and sister again, and to embrace her husband (my late father) again after nearly 11 years apart! We asked her to check in on my wife’s late parents, and her brother who died on May 4th this year, plus our Lab who died the next day. My Mom said “Don’t you worry, your dog will find me — I’ll bring some treats!”

Anyway, thanks to all for your thoughts or prayers. I’m typing this beneath a sign that says “The mother of four boys deserves a special place in Heaven “.

I hope and pray that is true.

In 2001 my mom was dying from throat cancer, it was terrible and i couldn`t be there without breaking down so i sat down and prayed to God to give me strength so i could be there for mom.
He answered that prayer on the spot and i sat by moms bed until she passed, we talked about the Lord and same as your mom how nice it was going to be in Heaven.
This life isn`t the end it`s only the beginning of a eternal life in a place where love is all around for ever.
Norma and i will be praying bro.

Prayers sent for a peaceful and pain free outcome, I hope that your mom defies the doctors and celebrates Christmas with you all.
If that cannot happen I know your mom will be celebrating with your Father..Darryl, my thoughts are with you and yours.

I know it's a tough time, but your Mom sounds like quite a woman. She will watch over those who went ahead, and your pup.

Done.

I lost my own Mom in 2001, and it's wasn't easy.

I hope your Mom recovers, despite the MD's prognosis.

Darryl,

I am very sorry to hear your Mom is not doing well. It sounds as if she is well prepared for whatever may come. You and your family are most certainly in my thoughts and prayers.

Well gang...

My elderly mother passed away mid-morning today...................

My wife and I got an urgent call and rushed down to her home on Saturday evening -- not knowing what we'd walk into when we finally arrived -- and when we walked in, she said "Oh good, you're here... I've waited for you..."

We all had some laughs and cries that evening, but as the night wore on, it was really tough to watch her lie there whispering "Hurry up... I'm ready... Let's go, I've got people to see who I haven't seen in years..." Then for a little bit, she was talking to my late father, but she never regained consciousness for too long after that, so we were very grateful we had the chance to talk with her while she was still alert.

* * It was the saddest AND yet most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed. * *

And we are at peace knowing that she is at Peace.

I just hope that when MY passing comes, that I handle it with such poise and grace....................

And I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

"God Bless Us Everyone"

Wow, Darryl, sorry you must cope with this shadow in this season, and yet what a wonderful passing. She got her wish, the Lord's will was done, and you know she went in peace directly into His arms.
If there must be a passage, may it go this way.
Best, Bill

Praise the Lord for a mother like that, I know it hurts, but you have the Holy Comforter so rest in Him.

Such a sweet sad moment. I tied that moment with my mom to a song. Years later now when I hear that song I smile with a tear and say Hi Mom.

Travel well Mrs.7. Godspeed. Heal well Old No7.
Kind regards,

Sorry that her daily presence isn’t there for you But...WHAT A WOMAN. If she handled most things in her life the way she handled this you are a VERY fortunate man to have had her in your life. When I was a kid my maternal Grandmother knew she was dying, she told me it’s ok to cry for me (Tom) because I was gonna miss her, but not to cry for her because she was gonna be in heaven with her Jesus and able to dance again and no more pain. Always thought that was a good way to put it.
Mrs 7 God speed and enjoy the dance with your husband.
