While at gummy sniff skool we had a beretta armoures course. We covered the 92 and 1200 series shotguns. A few of the guys got ahead of the instructor and before they knew it springs & plungers would go flying! Lots of little parts in them!
I was distressed to learn the slides were only good for 5000 rounds!

Didn't the M9 have problems with the slide coming apart and back into the shooters face? If so perhaps the 5000 round count was Beretta's way of avoiding law suits.

I've never minded a "full-size" handgun for CCW, but I do prefer the Taurus 92 over the Beretta 92 because of the 1911 style safety. I think the Beretta issue was blamed not on design but on a bad subcontractor or heat-treater or something; in other words it is supposedly a non-issue with current manufacture Berettas and may never have been an issue with the Taurus clone.

So...enjoy your new Beretta....! 8) 8)

very sorry to hear that, sometimes we just need to enjoy each other's company, celebrate each others "likes" and keep our opinions to ourselves. By the way you made a great purchase there. I have two LEO buddies that carry the 92 off-duty, they used them in the military and still consider them to be a great choice -- blessings ... :)

The Beretta is accurate. I don't have one because I don't care for them. My choice. I don't like the feel of Glock pistols. They do not fit my hand. Lots of different guns because lots of us have diffenent sized and shaped hands. Remember, there are tons of opinions on each gun made, but the one opinion that matters is the owners. If no one here had any different opinion or experience than you have, then you would be bored here. As long as it is civil, I want to see the difference of opinion and the different experiences.

I'll own my first statement. The guy was sharing a new toy purchase and well-meaning people were critical. I still opine that showing off a new toy is a world of difference from asking "What do you guys think about these shooters?"
It's kind of like posting a pic of your spouse and people remarking that your spouse looks like an overweight mud fence.

Relax Jason....they are only words that had no desire to do harm. You post lots of neat stuff and it adds diversity. Your a real "gun guy"

Look and Blaine and me...we beat each other up so much I don't think either one of us has any skin left on our knuckles :D
How 'bout it Blaine? You wanna go for round 17? :D We are still here, although I do tend to pull up a stump on the other campfire. :D Blaine and me remind me of my brother and me. It seems like no matter what the one says, it's poison to the other. But ....but.....I'd have his back and he would have mine in a time of need.

As for 92's, I've shot em but never owned one. Everyone I've talked to who bought them liked em.....but, like Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton, my hand was moulded for a single action Colt.-----6
