I believe these were built in Germany and are either similar to or perhaps are Weihrauch produced 22lr revolvers like Herters used to import. I think the tooling eventually made its way to Tanfoglio who made them for FIE in the 1980s. I think they maybe based on the same patents as Heritage 22 single actions.
Not sure of any of this and hoping someone could tell me something about these and specifically about the quality (material and workmanship) of the ones carrying the 'Herb Schmidt' name.
The reason why I ask is that I'm told a gun shop a little ways away from me has two they have been trying to sell for $100 (I'm unclear if that is both or each). Condition I'm told is very good.
Anyway …… thinking they might be a fun range toy(s) for now that I might eventually flip for something equally diverting and entertaining down the line.

I found the actual GunBroker listings for the revolvers in question
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/793069490
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/793069488
And a Wikipedia (of all places) description of the company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_Schmidt_Ostheim
Its about a hours drive to the gun shop …… If I were to do this I'd maybe offer them $150 for the pair..... but I'm not going to do it. As I think about it, I am losing enthusiasm for it. I'd rather invest the time and money in to one of the projects I already am working on.

.
Do it.
The Heritage .22's are Schmidt's great-great-grandchildren.
