A Poem

#1 Post by Pete44ru » Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:46 pm

.

Suzie Lee done fell in love,
She planned to marry Joe.
She was so happy 'bout it.
She told her Pappy so.

Pappy told her, Suzie gal,'
You'll have to find another.
I'd just as soon yer Mom don't know,
But Joe is yer half brother.

So Suzie put aside her Joe,
And planned to marry Will.
But, after telling Pappy this,
He said there's trouble still.

You can't marry Will, my gal,'
And please don't tell yer Mother.
Will and Joe and several more
I know is yer half brother.

But Mama knew and said, My child
Just do what makes you happy.
Marry Will or marry Joe;
You ain't no kin to Pappy.

.
IF IN THESE TYMES OF JEOPARDY,
MORTAL PERIL INVADES THY THOUGHT,
TAKE UP THIS TRVSTY PIECE,
TRVST IN THY GOD, AND FEAR THEE NAUGHT.

(The avatar is me, in 1948 ! )

There once was a girl from Dundas
She had the most beautiful AZZ
Not round soft and pink as you'd probably think
But was grey had long ears and ate grass

From his weapons on the open road no man should step one pace away, you don't know for certain when you're out on the road when you might have need of your spear.
