The little one is being called “kidney bean” at this point. My son and DIL got to hear the heartbeat and she is all glowing, he is excited and nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs all at the same time. The day she told him he had been called into the office at work figured he had goofed something up but instead they made him the assistant store manager and a significant pay raise so he had a very good day. I can’t wait. The kids have decided on what the baby will call us Grandpa and Grumpy which Mrs fordwannabe did not find as humorous as the rest of us

My neice is due in March. They are referring to Scarlet as an ear of corn now. My sister keeps wondering when they will stop referring to the baby as a vegetable?!

Ah to be gpa again. Oldest great-grandkid graduated from high school this year and has a girl friend living with him. I am at some risk of going from ggpa to gggpa. Sheeesh!

My observations (I have a good number of "observations" by now) is that the little ones love the Cricket to start out with and they do like shooting the Henry when they get bigger, but they really really love the 10/22 when they are ready for their "own gun". But my whole bunch seem to grow up with video games and may be somewhat ruined.

We have a short-as-can-be-legal single shot 22 the kids start out with, but pretty soon they shoot my CAR-15 with the 22 LR adapter in it, and have WAY more fun - because the sight height is much better with the 'carry handle' sights of the AR, and the collapsable stock in shortest position is just right (watch a kid shoot the 'cricket' and most of the time they have to put the stock UNDER their arm, at least if the kid is the start-shootin'-age WE use (5 or 6 years old).

Another thought would be the 'Mare Leg' 22 LR's - I've seen videos of little kids shooting those, and the "stock" is just right...!

Thanks gentlemen. A mares leg hmmmm? Got me thinking on that one. The same day he told me, my son said it is nice having his own personal gun library to check guns out of. Wonder what he means cause, they all go to the baby. Hehe

Grandkids are great, even when they're Greats. I've got a couple of those too. They all add up to about 15. I'm never sure which ones I need to claim so just love 'em all. We've adopted 3 of our Grandchildren but they still call us Grandpa and Grandma except the 9 year old calls me Gdad. I love it.

I just have one grandson , he’ll be three next month and I’m 57 . I just hope I live long enough to see him thru college 👍🏻 Well one isn’t totally the truth , I have a nephew I’ve treated about like a son , he and his gf are expecting in mid December . So I suppose I’ll have two grandsons 👌🏻

Awesome!! You will enjoy that young'n big time. Teach them. Watch them learn. They are what we leave behind.

I'm 59. Have 8 GBs. 11 & 4 y/o girls at the ranch with me now. Their mother shot two bucks this week, skinned, gutted and processed by herself with only instruction from me. 11 y/o likes to run the tenderizer and feed the grinder. The 4 y/o constantly talks constantly!! They are fun. Enjoy the extensions of your life.

Congratulations Grandpa. That's a much beloved title.

For some reason being called Grandpa has a strong meaning to men, almost as strong as Daddy. I balked the fist time I was called Grandpa. We have an "adopted" daughter that has a daughter and when she, the"granddaughter", needed babysitting, we stepped up. The first time she called me Grandpa, we were sitting in my big ole recliner and she asked me a question (don't remember the question, but she started it with "Grandpa, why...."). I was kind of taken aback and looked over at my wife who just smiled and nodded. She didn't have any Grandparents in the state and hadn't visited them, so just I just think God whispered my new title in her ear. We now have 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, but I remember that first time I was called Grandpa.....

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Granddaughter is graduating college this semester, 20 years after I earned my "degree" as Grandpa...
